Deck & Balcony Drains
Standing water on a deck or balcony is never just a nuisance — it's actively working its way into whatever's underneath. Doesn't matter if you waterproofed the substrate; pooling water tests every seam, every penetration, every lap in the membrane until something gives. That's why balcony drains and deck drains aren't optional on any elevated surface.
The trick is matching the drain to the assembly. A thin-membrane bowl drain works great in a copper or sheet-metal waterproofing system where you can solder the flange directly to the membrane. Thicker assemblies — think tile over mud bed — usually need a clamping-ring style drain that sandwiches the membrane between the body and the ring for a mechanical seal. We carry both styles.
Slope is the other half of the equation. A quarter-inch per foot toward the drain is the minimum. Anything flatter and you get bird baths. Anything steeper and you might be fighting the tile layout. Get your slope dialed in before the drain goes in — not after.
Our balcony & deck drains run from about $70 for a basic surface unit up past $800 for fully integrated overflow systems. Copper and stainless steel, made in the USA. If you're speccing a project and need help sizing, our product guys live for this stuff.
